Troubleshooting: Camera Access Issues
If the Kiosk App is unable to access the camera, try the following checks:
Another app is accessing the camera — Close any other applications (such as video conferencing tools, webcam software, or browsers) that may be using the camera, then relaunch the Kiosk App.
Windows Privacy Settings are blocking camera access — Go to Settings > Privacy & Security > Camera and ensure that Camera access is turned ON, and that "Let desktop apps access your camera" is also turned ON.
Check Recent Activity in Privacy & Security > Camera — Scroll down to the "Recent activity" section and verify that HOSTKiosk is listed. If it does not appear, the app may not have been granted camera access.
Antivirus or security software may be blocking access — Check your antivirus or security software settings and whitelist the HOSTKiosk application, or temporarily disable it to determine if it is causing the issue.
Test the Windows default Camera app — Open the built-in Windows Camera app and check if it works correctly. If the default Camera app also fails, the issue is likely related to the camera hardware or its driver rather than the Kiosk App.
